Cherub~  "A celestial being, the second order of angels, often represented as a rosy-cheeked child with wings;  a beautiful  person, especially a child, with a sweet, chubby, innocent face."  Oh, sweet Georgia Grace... what a perfect description of you!   Here she is at her 6 month session, growing up so fast already!  Her mama, grandmother and I had so much fun dressing up this little doll and capturing her glorious smiles and pouty lips... and all those soft rolls of baby skin.  

   



I know, I'm sorry we forced you to wear those darn uncomfortable cow girl boots... style over comfort GG, you gotta learn that one early!

Really, how cool is his name?!  CASH.  I just love it.  And, I adore him, too...  I had the opportunity to photograph him at only a few days old, the morning after he left the hospital.  It was sort of a crazy day, squeezed in the session immediately following a wedding, rainy outside and not long before I was to get on a plane for Seattle with my family.  Amazingly, we pulled it off and I am so glad that we were able to capture these precious moments for his mommy and daddy.

And, yes, of course we had to put Cash in a guitar case... wouldn't be right otherwise.

I met with his mom, Whitney (of the amazing www.whitneyfusion.com event planning) this afternoon to create his custom birth announcement.  We had such fun and it is going to be so darn cute!  Thanks to Whitney, I was motivated to blog today... it is always encouraging to connect with other moms who are running their own businesses to help keep me going.

Oh, and his full name:  Clark Edward Stoner IV... now, that's pretty cool too.

What more is there to say about this perfect baby girly-girl today on Valentine's Day?  

Other than that she is amazing and beautiful, and lovely and soft and so incredibly adored by her dear parents.  And that I had such an enjoyable afternoon watching her from behind the lens and dressing her up and cuddling with her from time to time.  Sweet Eleni, you are just an angel... and you made me wish I could have another baby girl in my life so I could adorn her in pink and ruffles and all things girl.

I will be sharing more from this session coming up... so come back soon to take another peek.  I have been having incredible challenges with my computer recently, but believe I am finally on the mend.  And, yes, I do hope to get back to my blog journaling here after over 2 months off.  During the very full holiday season something had to give... and well, knowing me, my blog is often the first thing to suffer.  But, today is a new day...

fireman, part 2

One was just not enough... here are a few more of this most precious little fire guy.   I had such a wonderful time playing with Logan this day, he was full of joy and had the greatest wide mouthed expressive giggles!  The love surrounding him shared by his mommy, grandma and grandpa was absolutely beautiful...

Thank you, little Logan, for a completely enjoyable afternoon!  I hope to see your sweet smiles again soon.

little guy... are you really one this quickly?  i have been so blessed to get to photograph sweet kodiak 4 times this past year.  starting with while he was in his mama's belly, then at the moment he entered this world, two weeks later and now as he passes the one year mark.   just look at these faces you gave us this day.  could you get any cuter... i mean really?!

and, big brother phoenix, i did capture some of your greatness too!  i will show some of those very soon...

re-emerging

Yes, i have been M.I.A. for quite some time.... for about a month actually, yikes.   My post holiday holiday that I so badly needed sort of got the best of me.  I had that intoxicating week of no phone, no computer, all family and relaxation time and realized how good it was for me, how much I NEEDED a little down time.  And, in the midst of all that and now getting back in the swing of work projects again, well, I sort of lost my blog momentum.    But, I AM BACK!  And, I am going to try to be better, once again... and do my best to share thoughts and images... because I do love it, but it is one of those things that just falls to the bottom of my list sometimes.  That being said, I must tell you how much I love your comments, they mean so much and that is one thing that keeps me going with blogging, being able to hear from YOU, too.  Still being a relatively new blogger, I need the encouragement.

The encouragement-  this is what I was given tonight by an old friend in Seattle, in a round about way, she doesn't even know it... a friend who is fighting her fight with cancer, who is blogging regularly, who is incredible and awesome and inspirational and sweet and kind and funny as heck, and just an over all phenomenal human being... and well, it made me think... and want to get back in action and start journaling again.  (*more on this super star later...)

So, hello, it's good to be back!  And, because I cannot journal without posting an image, of course... here is a little sweet peach from quite a while back, I just adore her...

early Christmas gift

Look what this family was blessed with this Christmas season...!  Little Chloe was such a sweet babe, just along for the ride, allowing us to play all morning long.  I love mom's style, so kept finding more and more fun places to put this angel.  How about this first one underneath the funky vintage tree... just about perfect to remember her first Christmas.

Such a handsome little guy.  I love his hair, most certainly done by great stylist mom, Shiloh, who works at Urban Groove in Santa Cruz.

beautiful buggy baby

I came across this seriously vintage baby buggy early this summer... and justified bringing it home with me because I now had space to keep it,  up high on a ledge in my studio... that was in desperate need of decoration and was just calling it's name.  And, then I was dying to find the perfect baby to fill it and photograph...  and I found her!  My friends and long time clients, Kara and Kevin, had recently had their 4th little girl (who of course was gorgeous like all the rest), so I asked to borrow her for a short while and take her on a quick little buggy ride... and oh, was it fun!

Little Ella was a star... it was pretty cold out, but there she sat, smiling ear to ear, in this old and somewhat decrepit baby buggy.  So, I got my fill... captured this precious baby girl in the buggy, and here she is...

 

All that cuteness in about 15 minutes... what a wonderful morning!  Anyone else have a baby in need of a buggy ride?  I would love to do it again!

Oh, and I turned that first image into a big gallery wrapped canvas and have it displayed in my studio... you must come see it, Kara.  Thank you again, for loaning your angel... I look forward to a session with the rest of you very soon.

tiny little hands

So, what do you notice about every one of these images?  This sweet little angel is in love with her hands... so cute.  Her mom told me when I arrived that Eloise adored her hands, and she was right.  From the moment I got there she had her little fingers pulled up into her face and despite the fact that she was sound asleep the entire shoot, she knew she really wanted to keep them there!   I believe she is going to do something wonderful with them someday... a writer, a sculptor, a ballerina...?

Mom and Dad were so nice to let me do most anything I wanted to try with their first baby.  Stick her in the bushes, lay her on the old "beach chair", draw around her with chalk...  it was just great!  Here is a little peek at the fun and creative day we had photographing beautiful Eloise...
